Scams

Over this past week I have been working on my online business and have been dealing with some setbacks. My setbacks aren’t anything more than me not having a level of understanding of what I need to do and it has been overwhelming. At this point I could easily adopt the attitude of, “this doesn’t work, it’s a scam.” But, I remind myself that to do anything worthwhile, there is a lot to learn, there is going to be failures, and I am going to have to work on my skill set. This, in my opinion, is what a lot of people say and do in any of these work from home businesses. Whether it be network marketing, affiliate marketing, or any of the forms of home business. When things don’t go according to their expectations or they find that they are going to have to put some work in it is easier for people blame the program or outside forces for their results and not themselves.

In this post I am not going to lecture or judge someone. But what I am going to touch on is that when people get involved in endeavors such as home businesses’, people come in with the wrong perception.

  • Think they are going to make a lot of money and fast. They are married to the result, not the process.
  • Going to be easy. Once they see that it involves work people lose their interest.
  • Mindset. They don’t assume the role of their new identity.

With all of the above points, many people are not going to take responsibility for their actions. Since, “I don’t understand this” or “it’s not working for me.”, people quit. They have this get rich quick mentality. So when things aren’t going according to plan and there is failure. As I stated earlier, instead of taking personal responsibility it is much easier to call things a Scam. This is my point, I am not suggesting that their aren’t scams out there, you have to do your homework. If it is too easy or too good to be true, than it is. I look at it this way, if making money in any of these business opportunities was easy, everyone would be doing it. If that is true, would it be worth it.

Though I am finding things challenging, I’m lost, and frustrated at times. I am going to work daily, reading, listening, and practicing my new skill set. I’m also finding that as I move along even though somethings make no sense to me. As I move on, issues, or problems I had sometimes answer themselves as I gain knowledge. My advice here:

  • Persistence.
  • Stay away from chasing the next shiny thing.
  • Approach this as a job. Would your actions for the day be enough to keep your job or would you get fired?
  • Remember your WHY. Why am I doing this
