A Thought

As I was getting ready for my day today, my wife and I are preparing to head to the beach for a few days. Though I am excited about the prospect of going to the beach at the same time I am also dreading the steps involved to get there. Packing, getting both house and work in order, and all the other steps necessary so you can feel comfortable and actually enjoy yourself. What got me thinking is even though I see going to the beach pleasurable at the same time I’m dreading the process of leaving my comfort zone of my daily routine I started to realize we all do the same thing when we take on a new venture. are getting out of out comfort zone. so though I see benefit I’m still doing pushing things off, etc

In a book that I will eventually make available, The Pitfalls of Making Money Online, I discuss the habit of chasing the next shiny thing. This one emotional habit is the main reason people to fail in online marketing, network marketing, or any of the homebased/work from home businesses. What happens is this, and this is coming from personal experience, no one stays focused on one task or project at one time. We do a little here, a little there and we wind up with a lot of the elements necessary to get the business going but none of substance. Being, has or will this generate any income for you. In the meantime, we go from one thing to another. In a previous post, calling it quits, when it comes to finishing a project. You receive an email showing something you may need and this product, service, may be of value, it delivers what it promises and you end up purchasing a course that you think will benefit you some time down the road so you end up with a bunch of stuff on your computer and leads to being a distraction and you failing to stay on course and eventually quit. then this when people say this doesn’t work or it’s a scam. As with anything new each of these courses takes time to learn and implement so you lose time or sets you back a month or so. or you buy with the understanding that I will come back to this at some point in the future. so your computer is filled with a bunch of stuff you may never open.

The solution, pick your project and finish it before moving onto to something else. For me I have my business website, my blog, then I have my marketing and advertising. Each of these is a project within itself and will take quite a few hours to get this accomplished. This is why you have to stay focused and know your Why, next week’s post, because if you don’t you will get lost and frustrated, as I have been.
