One of the most critical mistakes to avoid is whether you are doing affiliate or internet marketing. Is the notion of making 10K in a short period of time. What is promoted, for most people, is not reality. It’s not that it can’t happen, but it doesn’t take the path being promoted. A lot of the Gurus are selling “the dream.”
So, what can you expect?
First, understand you are running a business. This means showing up to work every day, not when you feel like it.
Second, be prepared to learn a new set of skills and along with this will come frustration. You can’t improve without conflict.
Third, invest in yourself. Everyone is looking for free. Free can get you started, but it won’t get you over the finish line. If you are going to compete with other marketers, you can’t have substandard anything.
Another issue, and this one plagued me for a long time, was the notion that I can figure this out on my own. Once I had some guidance, I accomplished more in a week than I did in a year.
